Our Story

Baked Fresh Everyday

Bringing people closer to home in one bite

We strive to make delicious, freshly made desserts.

A Taste of Home

Hailing from Davao City, Philippines, Carol started this business in 2019 when she first came to Australia as an international student.

One afternoon, a homesick Carol decided to call her parents and expressed her struggle to satisfy her pretty serious cravings for Filipino kakanin. Who would’ve known that one video call can change everything? She then procured authentic family recipes from her parents and began making them for herself and her housemates.

Full of dreams and fueled by puto and cassava cake, Carol and Dave realised that many Filipinos in Melbourne long for the comfort of home. So they decided to make affordable yet amazing desserts that the community could enjoy. And thus, Carol’s Kakanin and Desserts is born.

Carol and Dave thoroughly test their desserts to ensure they get the right taste, smell, texture and appearance. This relentless drive for perfection has become their trademark.

The way forward

Filipino desserts are still undeniably making its way into the Australian culture. Carol's Kakanin and Desserts aim to bring a piece of home to the Filipino community and create a broader awareness of kakanins in Australia and the world.

Good food has transported us back to the place we love, and that's what we aim to bring you: a piece of our home. We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy making them for you.
